Šiandien balsas.lt išspausdino straipsnį pavadinimu “Lietuviai gyvena perpus prasčiau nei statistinis Europietis”. Tikėjausi straipsnyje rasti įdomių įžvalgų ir palyginimų, pavyzdžiui - tipinio Vokietijos ar Olandijos namų ūkio sąnaudų struktūrinį palyginimą su Lietuvos namų ūkių, kur galbūt pamatytume, kad pirmo būtinimo prekėms (būstas, maistas) išleidžiame daug daugiau, nei išsivysčiusių šalių gyventojai (ir pramogoms lieka mažiau, ech), arba vidutinių atlyginimų ir prekių grupių kainų palyginimą, kuris duotų panašias išvadas. Deja, vienintelis atskaitos taškas buvo BVP vienam gyventojui, kuris, žurnalistų nuomone, puikiai tinkamas apibūdinti gyvenimo kokybę.

Mano nuomone, BVP yra vienas neteisingiausiai interpretuojamų makroekonomikos rodiklių, jis tikrai nieko bendro neturi su tipinio gyventojo gyvenimo kokybe. Peržvelgę statistiką, matome, kad pagal BVP vienam gyventojui pirmauja tokios šalys kaip Šveicarija, apie kurias manome, kad ten puiki vieta gyventi, ir iš karto dedame lygybės ženklą tarp BVP ir gyvenimo kokybės. Balsas.lt pateikė statistiką pagal regionus, cituoju:

“Pačiu turtingiausiu visoje ES pripažintas Londono regionas. Didžiosios Britanijos sostinėje gyvenantys žmonės vidutiniškai yra triskart turtingesni nei ES vidurkis. Vienam Londono gyventojui tenkantis BVP siekia maždaug 67 798 eurų. Tuo tarpu bendras ES valstybių vidurkis yra 22 400 eurų. Po Londono išsirikiavo Liuksemburgas (BVP vienam gyventojui 59 202 eurų), Briuselis (53 876 eurų), Hamburgas (45 271 eurų) bei Viena (39 774 eurų).”

Taigi, balsas.lt turėtų daryti išvadą, kad Londone žmonės gyvena tris kartus geriau nei statistiniai europiečiai. Kad šis teiginys klaidingas - įrodinėti neverta. Londono BVP daugiausia sukuriamas paslaugų ir finansų sektoriaus bendrovių, kurios teikia savo paslaugas visoje Didžiojoje Britanijoje ir likusiame pasaulyje. Jų sukurta pridėtinė vertė “apskaitoma” Londone, tačiau neturi nieko bendro su didžiąja šio miesto žmonių dauguma, tuo labiau jų gerove. Kad sukuriamos darbo vietos daro teigiamą įtaką - nesiginčysiu, tačiau ne tokiais absoliučiais mastais, kaip kad rodo rodiklis.

Lietuvoje, deja, BVP vienam gyventojui siekia 53,2 proc. ES vidurkio. Galime džiaugtis, kad pirmaujame prieš Latviją ir Lenkiją. Tačiau teigti, kad mūsų gyvenimo kokybė yra šešis kartus prastesnė, nei Londone - nesąmonė. Gerovei išmatuoti reikia ieškoti kitų rodiklių, įskaitant mano paminėtus šio straipsnio pradžioje. Ir ne tik ekonominiai rodikliai rodo “kokybę” - reikia nepamiršti taršos, triukšmo, emigrantų problemų, alaus kainos bare ir kt.

JAV pasaulyje yra viena iš pirmaujančių pagal BVP vienam gyventojui šalių, tačiau gyvenimo kokybe skundžiasi ne vienas. Ypatingai pastaruoju metu. Šiandien perskaičiau vieną labai smagų straipsnį, kurio autorius pasiūlė gana praktišką rodiklį, galintį išmatuoti ekonominę šalies gerovę - tai laikas, kurį žmogus sugaišta eilėje prie metalo pridavimo punkto. Eilė prie punkto, manau, tikrai geriau atspindi vidutinio šalies gyventojo gerovę, negu sukuriama pridėtinė vertė.
